MINISTER OF EDUCATION HANDS OVER NEWLY RENOVATED STUDENT BATHROOMS AT CEMSS

Basseterre: St. Kitts, Wednesday, February 13, 2024: The Ministry of Education presented newly renovated and refurbished bathrooms to the Charles E. Mills Secondary School (CEMSS) on Wednesday February 07 during a brief Handover Ceremony at the school.

During the ceremony Minister of Education Hon. Dr. Geoffrey Hanley said, “This is a very brief, but I think necessary ceremony as we engage in the official handing over of the bathroom at CEMSS that has been renovated.”

The Minister explained the impetus, “Assuming the position in 2022, when I visited the school, I was heartbroken in many of cases when I saw the condition of some schools particularly the bathrooms. Immediately I gave it to the leadership in the Ministry of Education, that we are going to tackle the renovation in phases, starting with the bathrooms, then widows and other areas.”

Communicating gratitude Minister Hanley shared, “I am extremely happy that this project [bathroom renovation] is completed. I urge you students to take care of the bathroom and treat it just as you would treat your bathrooms at home.”

Expressing gratitude, Principal Mrs. Eisha Jackson revealed it has been decades since the school’s bathrooms were renovated.
